FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Here are a few of the questions I get asked the most

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

A course of CBT can range from 6 to 20 sessions depending on the nature of a person’s difficulties. On average, I tend to see clients for 10 to 12 sessions, but people respond to therapy at different rates. This can be discussed at assessment.

HOW FREQUENT WILL THE SESSIONS BE?

Regular attendance leads to more successful outcomes. I usually see people on a weekly basis. If there is continuity from week to week it helps us to stay focused and build momentum.

HOW LONG ARE THE SESSIONS?

Sessions are 50 minutes long.

HOW MUCH ARE THE SESSIONS?

I charge £90 per session.

DO YOU ACCEPT PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE?

I am in the process of registering with the main private health insurance companies. Please enquire with me directly.

WILL I HAVE TO COME AT THE SAME TIME EVERY WEEK?

I tend to see clients at the same time every week for consistency, but if that is not possible I will make every effort to see you at a different time.

DO YOU OFFER ONLINE SESSIONS?

Yes. I am able to offer sessions online and face to face.

WHAT IF I MEET YOU AND I DON'T THINK WE ARE THE RIGHT FIT?

That is absolutely fine. Finding a therapist you feel comfortable with is very important. There is no obligation to commit to therapy following an assessment.

IS EVERYTHING I TELL YOU CONFIDENTIAL?

Everything we discuss is strictly confidential. As a therapist I have both a legal and an ethical duty to protect my clients’ confidentiality. An exception to confidentiality relates to the disclosure of serious risk of harm either to oneself or others. In this circumstance, every effort will be made to speak to you first about any actions I must take.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL A SESSION?

I have a 48 hour cancellation policy. If less than 48 hours’ notice is given the session will be charged at the full rate. This is because it would then be too late to fill the session and that time would be lost.
